Vatican Ruling: Women Priests = Paedophilia

The Vatican made another bloomer when it recently issued revisions to its internal laws to make it easier to tag priests accused of sexual abuse. It appended the statement that ordaining women as priests was an offence as unforgivable as paedophilia. Analysts say that the male-dominated Vatican believes it unthinkable that paedophilia can be controlled by ending the celibacy doctrine or by permitting priesthood for women. In fact, the ordainment of women was listed among the “more grave (sic) delicts,” or offences that include paedophilia, possession of child pornography, the sexual abuse of mentally disabled adults, heresy, apostasy and schism. The new revision codifies a 2007 ruling that made the ordainment of women an excommunicable offence, topped by defrocking. It doesn’t look like the Vatican will be entering the paradise of philogyny anytime soon.
