I think this is purely a witch hunt in progress. One man with grudges against IIPM, which is Maheshwar Peri, does some stories with Outlook and then with Careers 360 and misuses his media power to put down an institution which had earlier complained to him that his b-school rankings were manipulated by himself. Maheswhar Peri started doing negative stories against IIPM. Once IIPM came out with a news magazine, Peri started doing worse stories against IIPM. Sadly, the world wants sensationalist stories and Peri succeeded in raking up the false negative hype on IIPM. Yes, IIPM has faults. Yes, IIPM has to go some distance to compete with the world's best. But that in no way takes away the fact that the institution and Arindam Chaudhuri are trying. But Peri kept writing false stories. There was no other option but to take him, Outlook and Careers 360 to court. Fortunately, in courts, sensationalism doesn't work. You need to show evidence. The court issued arrest warrants against Peri and Mahesh Sarma (editor Careers 360) and against the directors of Outlook for blatantly false reporting. Peri appealed in the Delhi High Court. In September 2011, the Delhi High Court too rejected Maheshwar Peri's and Outlook's claims. It left the Directors (the Raheja group) as they were not involved in the misreporting. Here's one of the links http://www.indiankanoon.org/doc/1040249/ which documents that the court has ruled that there was "CRIMINAL INTENT" on the part of Maheshwar Peri, Outlook and others in maligning IIPM. Now, you can either understand that this is just sensationalism -- or you can continue the witch hunt. The point is, this is not correct. This is not ethical reporting. And this is truly an immoral display of what misreporting by media can do. Sad is the day for Indian media that such people run magazines like Outlook.

Reading the comments from people who claim have studied in IIPM, I can say that from their lack of english writing skills and inability to form coherent sentences, they come across more as wannabes rather than true management graduates...i am not surprised becoz IIPM seems to be taking anybody & everybody as long as they can afford the fees...these people want to hold MBA degrees, look & sound respectable and sophisticated but cannot get entry in IIM due to their lack of talent / intelligence...what they do not lack is money, so they go to seedy institutions like IIPM...

The below comment looks like the one from an IIPM student. Read it and judge the quality of the institute for yourselves: Amit 25 June 2011 03:16 PM To my all dear friends, I can understand your feeling, but let me clear you one thing which is very important for us. I do understand that there are many problems with IIPM but on the other side they have many good qualities also. Let me start with the problems :- 1) It is not recognised for UGC or AICTE, so it means we can go for next master degree. 2) They do alot of marketing to get the addmission and usually a good institute never advertise. 3) The way the are running there bussiness model is not quite good, there student are not serious and even the faculty. They do things whenever and however they want. 4) They took every student who come for the addmission, without knowing that weather he has completed his graduation or not. These are some of the problems with IIPM Now coming to the qualities :- 1) They got the best teacher who share the knowledge with there student, I can bet you on this, There teaching faculty is totally outsourced which means they teachers who are teaching us are actually working proffessionals, who shares the real time knowlede with the student....And moreover the teaching faculty are working on the top level management in there companies with a top class educational back-ground and with a world class experience. 2) There gota tour. 3) Great infrastructure(17 colleges all over India). 4) The best course curricullam.(72 subjects in 2 years). 5) They actually helps the students to improve there comm skill, which is one of the most important thing in today's life. Now everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. The only problem with IIPM is with its recognisation. I think if they get the recognisation from UGC and AICTE then they can compete the world class institutes and they should go for it. And i can bet you on that once they are recognised from UGC and AICTE, they will be the best.....and then nobody can raise a finger on them. Moreover, people who are saying that and who are studying in IIPM should not say this that its not recognised or they are charging very high fees. Whyyyyyyy??????? It was your decision to get addmission in IIPM and to pay this much of fees, and dont say this that you were not knowing this before that IIPM is not recognised. Atleast you should respect the place where are you studying now....and moreover this degree will not matter much, the thing which will mateer in your life is your knowledge. And if you will study seriously then nobody will raise a finger on you and not even the IIM or IIT's.... So thats all from myside.... take care

You must also cover how the "PAID NEWS" media plays a role in all this. Without Hindustan Times etc advertisements as pointed out by sandeep (27 June 2011 comment) there are also many news articles appearing like news but in fact are advertisement and exaggerated claims. It is very bad to hit media with ex parte injunctions to remove well researched article but leave the PAID NEWS and false advertisement propaganda untouched! The Caravan should fight back and I fully support you. The Caravan, please also give coverage to all defamation and web site take down cases which are going on. Even before IIPM case there is another case GIIS K12 Education suing Google in Delhi HC. (Before that there was also "toxic writer" related blogger case but the landscape changed after IT Act came in so GIIS K12 Education case is one of the first and also has novelty factor in trying to get Singapore and Malaysia blogs shut through Delhi High Court. It is like IIPM going to Silchar Court. The other similarity is locus standi of the petitioner no. 1 in your case Mr Gupta and in GIIS case the GIIS branch in India, both are only the subordinates and not the affected entity). Now there is cases of ITC v Suhel Seth. The Caravan should do a detailed study and analysis of all these cases through experts because the underlying theme is one and the same. The media landscape is changing because of social media and the legal system should not be warped to the benefit of such parties who cry defamation for criticism. More on this at http://www.bloggernews.net/117281 but unfortunately this criticism is also maybe blocked by your ISP (refer list published by Centre for Internet Society Bangalore which obtained the list thru RTI application). Keep up the good work, 'The Caravan'. May the force be with you.

I understand the article was removed per the injunction order passed by the Civil Court of Silchar on 12th April 2011. It appears these are standard tactics by IIPM and Arindam Choudhuri. Cannot Caravan get the order vacated by approaching a higher court? Please do consider if this can be done. Best wishes GS Chandy

I am quite a bit surprised after reading Mr Arindam's books. I felt was that he has just taken out the meanings from all the possible successful people around him and a few of the old conventional sayings. So, I started to write and have reached a point that I have made a book. A book that is simply based on the things around me and how I interpreted the things. Later I came to know that such interpretation with a minor percentage of variation is done by almost everyone. Frauds or no frauds... But Mr Arindam, your books is not for common people. It is only for successful people. Rasta

I first encountered Caravan's descriptive account on inside chicago's court and read about iipm stuff....IIPM is such a fraudster....any MBA college intaking its own pass out students due to non-placement is a low grade institute....Why do not media cover up those agencies on whose account IIPM claims to be so and so rated......Can Caravan mail me the article it published.....or just the facts.....i would like to convey those to my friends at least...n Y there is no governing body which can charge the print media for giving a full page space knowing the charges being laid on such a fraud institution....y not interview ex IIPMites and print who can give actual acount of affairs at IIPM....Silchar court cannot stop that....between caravan should not focus too much for puting a correct account of IIPM...n also focus on other important news bits..

Now that there is a ban on this article more people are reading it and more TV channels are talking about it. Sad that the Big Management Ponytail guru couldn't envision this simple fact. or does he think any publicity (even bad) is good publicity.

We need to show this fellow what the Streissand Effect is... I'm going to try and host the article wherever I can.  I think it's sad Caravan bowed down to the pressure and removed the article.

For a long time I have been mulling over how should arindam be brought to his sense from his non-sense. I am an EX IIPM, though quite shameul of saying this because, non except those highly influential mates, could get a proper job , forget about PLACEMENT. It was indeed like a DISPLACEMENT instead of PLACEMENT what most of us felt after that expesive course.

As the article rightly said, IIPM sucked the hard earned parents money , that too from marginalised middle income group, who rightly or wrongly dream of having a cushy MBA job! Some said blames are to be shared, but what a nonsense! In a rush to compete this world , looking for the brighter light out of the dark tunnel, in this land of religion and philosophies ike India, we expected not cone man and fraudstar but beaconlight. Many wrongly believed A.Choudhury was such torch bearer of beacon lights leading aspirants to the right directions but turned out to be a Pseodo-political and econmic philosopher.

These days he started talking about human rights, international conventions, freedom for Kashmir..I wonder where and what is he upto. He is so overwhelmingly desperate to catch the limelight of anything perhaps could be of giving Kashmir away to Pakistan.

Cudos to Caravan and its supporters...like Anna Hazare..we all should fight against corruptions originated even from individuals such as Arindam Choudhuri and Co.

A lawsuit by IIPM is a blessing in disguise for it has potential to expose not only Arindam Choudhary but also the system, may not be in Silchar but surely in the apex court. I salute your resolve.
