The Art Of Halahala (Art)

01 June, 2013

Silence, a language that is universal, is at the heart of artist Appupen’s latest graphic novel, Legends of Halahala (HarperCollins, 2013). The book uses only images to tell five different stories set in the mythical world of Halahala. Each story therefore has a distinct style, and is rendered with pen, ink, charcoal, water colours and some digital colouring. On show will be a series of original drawings, cover art and paintings, and limited edition prints from the book.

The Art of Halahala, till 7 June, Five Forty Five gallery, 545, 6th Main, 4th Cross, Indira Nagar Stage II, Bangalore. For more information, call +91 90360-01081 or visit www.fivefortyfive.in.
