Lila Prism Lecture Series 2013 (Talks)

01 October, 2013

The LILA Foundation for Translocal Initiatives presents its first lecture series to celebrate human association and dialogue. Bringing together 16 leading experts in diverse fields like economics, culture, history and the media, the series aims to find methods to conserve the most precious moments in the march of cultures. The two lectures this October are by Richard Mahapatra and GN Devy. Mahapatra, senior editor at Down to Earth magazine, will talk about the origins and present difficulties of development journalism. Devy, linguist and founder of the Bhasha Research and Publication Centre, Baroda, led the 60-volume People’s Linguistic Survey of India that was released this September. His talk on India’s adivasi language and culture will draw from his experience of working with adivasi communities over the last two decades.

LILA PRISM Lecture Series 2013, 8 and 29 October, Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Estate, Delhi.
