National Film Festival 2011

01 July, 2011

This year’s National Film Festival, organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals, opened 17 June and is currently underway. Started in 1953 as an annual showcase for artistic, competent and meaningful films, the festival covers the entire spectrum of the Indian cinema. Featuring all National Film Award-winning films of 2010—announced last month and scheduled to be presented formally in August—the festival will open with the screening of two films: Dabangg (winner of Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment) in the feature category and Pistulya (winner of Best Debut Film of A Director) in the non-feature category.
