Raj Rewal: Memory, Metaphor And Meaning In This Constructed Landscape (Architecture)

01 June, 2014

Over the last five decades, the prolific and internationally acclaimed architect Raj Rewal has strongly influenced contemporary architectural practice, research and thinking. This show, the first ever architectural exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi, sheds light on the role of historical models in Rewal’s work, and the manner in which he invokes them through design metaphors. It divides his oeuvre into functional categories: houses and housing projects, including housing for the urban poor; buildings for research and education, including campuses; public buildings; and offices.

Raj Rewal: Memory, Metaphor and Meaning in this Constructed Landscape, until 15 June, National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi.
