Revisiting The Popular

Artist Kanchan Chander’s solo show, where more than 60 of her works are on display, Revisiting the Popular includes paintings on canvas and paper, mixed media works on inkjet and archival paper, and sculptures. The show features a series on popular Bollywood and Hollywood female icons, one on Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, and the ‘Abhivyakti’ series of paintings that depict motherhood as a woman’s journey of self-reflection. Drawn to using mixed media like paper cuttings, sequins, swarovski crystals, lace, appliqués, bindis, stickers and much more for its aesthetic and therapeutic qualities, Chander’s show is a generous mix of diverse themes and forms.
