15 JANUARY TO 6 MARCH
NATIONAL GALLERY OF MODERN ART
In Shoonya Ghar—a multimedia piece that draws on sculpture, found objects and film—the artist Sudarshan Shetty seeks to explore “paradoxes and apparent contradictions.” While his previous exhibition, titled every broken moment, piece by piece, brought viewers into close, intimate proximity with the art, Shoonya Ghar keeps viewers at a distance, confronting them with vast, room-like spaces. One such space contained fragments of daily life, such as a wooden bed with faded bolster pillows, a dresser with a photograph on top, and a dusty television set mounted on a wall. At the end of the exhibit, a video showed dancers performing among the installations, in the space of the exhibit.
