Skunk Girl and Other Tales

Skunk Girl by Sheba Karim is a young adult novel that deals with the problems of a Pakistani Muslim girl who finds it hard to balance two cultures but manages with spunk and a little humour. Karim, who's Pakistani-American, will talk about the experience of Muslim and South Asian girls caught between two different cultures. She will also read an excerpt from her upcoming novel, The Serpent Queen, a historical fiction work chronicling the life of India's first female ruler, Razia Sultan.
