From the Delhi Press archives: a younger Sushma Swaraj.

Swaraj began her career in 1973 as a Supreme Court advocate. In 1977, at the age of 25, she served as India's youngest ever cabinet minister as a member of the Janata Party government in the Haryana legislative assembly. She joined the newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party in 1980 and went on to occupy various posts in the NDA government, earning a reputation as one of the party’s best orators. She also served as Delhi’s first woman chief minister, in 1998.

Swaraj is currently the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, and the sitting MP of Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, a seat she is contesting again this election.
