MP Raju
This book, by a lawyer working at the Indian Supreme Court, traces the roots of the Indian Constitution back to ancient history. Raju argues that the constitutional culture of modern India is derived from a theory of values based on an idea of plurality that was present in the pre-Vedic period. He also examines dangers to the Constitution during a coup or a state of emergency, when the law is replaced by the rule of an individual.
