To compile this anthology, Dilip Kumar searched extensively through Tamil publications, looking at little-known magazines, out-of-print books, contemporary literary journals, and anthologies of both popular and literary fiction. The results of his extensive work are these eighty-eight short stories—including pieces by stalwarts such as Pudumaippittan, Mauni, Sundara Ramaswamy and Ashokamitran—whose juxtaposition depicts the evolution of the Tamil short story.
