APEEJAY ARTS, DELHI

Rosemarie Trockel can make art out of anything. She uses ink, charcoal, pencil, collage, computer drawings and assembled installations to interrogate gendered expressions. By superimposing female features on male subjects, she explores multiple “femininities” latent in masculine forms. Trockel is known for her use of new media, and for her striking counter-positions to what she calls the figure of the “male artist-genius.” This show presented her creations in Plexiglas, wool, enamel, and myriad other mediums.
