1 DECEMBER TO 13 JANUARY

TARQ, MUMBAI

This is Rithika Merchant’s first solo exhibition at Tarq. It explores issues of migration, displacement and belonging, through epics and mythologies. Working primarily with gouache and ink on paper, Merchant creates elaborate and poetic mosaics of myths that seek to thread together myriad stories across time and space. The exhibition draws its inspiration from Merchant’s close encounter with the plight of refugees who have been streaming into European cities from conflict-ridden parts of the world.
